Yes, Mia, Depakote is an anti-seizure medication.
I have epilepsy, but am not on Depakote. When my neuro realized I had ch, he wanted me change my medication (I am on Tegretol and Mysoline)to Depakote, thinking I could take it as my anti-seizure medication, but also as a preventative for my clusters. I didn't want to because of the many side-effects linked with Depakote. I would watch your dad closely and report any side effects, even minor, to the dr.
