This is better late than never! I take neurontin 1x during the day & 2 at bedtime to aid with sleep. I have permanent nerve damage in my back and both legs due to a broken disc. The pain gets so bad at night it used to wake me about 2 dozen times a night. It is not a narcotic and cannot be adictive! According to my doctor, it was originally formuated to prevent seizures, but since that time a multitude of uses have been found. I had suffered from depression due to the constant pain, and resulting anxiety attacks which became unbearable! The neurotin helps with the anxiety attacks, the waking from pain and the pain itself. I will never be pain-free, but this medicine has certainly helped me greatly in so many ways! I also suffer from cluster headaches and the neurotin has helped this condition too. I take it every day as this is the only way for the medication to work properly. Only taking it some times does not allow it to be in your system since it has a very short half-life and basically only works from hours to hours.
