Doug,
The warm towels and warm shower do well on mine but the cold stuff actually makes mine more intense. Don't know why, but I stay away from anything cold, even cold drinks. Lukewarm to warm for me. I've taken a headband and stretched it over my eye with a warm towel under for some relief till the shot takes hold. Good luck
