Hi Chris,
Having been a CH supporter for 14 long years now, I really picked up on something you said in your post. "Someone always asking how you are....is there anything you can do to help?" Believe me I KNOW where you're coming from, I KNOW how much you want to help, but - in our house anyways - the hardest lesson I've had to learn is to leave Mike alone so that he can focus on the pain and deal with it. The attacks end much quicker that way. If I'm there firing questions at him during an attack, it really frustrates him and it's a really good way to get told off, in no uncertain terms. The biggest help I've been (I hope) is to ask Mike during his pain free times what he needs me to do when he is under attack.
We deal with CH from a med-free viewpoint only because we have never found anything that brings Mike relief otherwise. Water, ice, oxygen are our biggest weapons. Also, Gravol (or Dramamine in the States) before bed will sometimes let him get through the night.
Hang in there and feel free to email me directly if you need a shoulder.
