I have suffered from clusters for over 25 years now.
I have tried every new medication that came along until one of these, (sansert)caused me to have a cardiac arrest in 1991. After that I have just toughed them out with the help of percodan prescribed by my neurologist. The percodan would not kill the pain and often caused rebound headaches. Finally last year my doctor prescribed
ms
contin, a slow release morphine that has a longer half life than the percodan. I still use oxygen to take the edge off of the attack when it first hits but the ms-contin keeps the pain to a dull ache and lets me get on with life untill the cycle is over. It has worked really well for me and I would sugest asking your Dr. about it.
