Hello Everyone,

Been reading this board for a while now and never posted. I feel like you are a lifeline and wanted to thank DJ and all for what you are doing. Do you ever wonder how many of us are out here just watching? I have had CH's for 14 years. Have done all kinds of med. For three years I took 600 mg. of verapamil daily and was headache free, but very, very tired, so my Neurologist (Dr. Raskin, UCSF) had me lower my dose to 480 mg. - life was still wonderful, but got tired of being tired. Got to thinking (my first mistake!) my CH's were GONE FOR GOOD and let a local doc talk me into lowering my dose a little more to 360 mg. 10 days later - FULL BLOWN - have spent several months working with Dr. Raskin to try and get rid of the monster, went slowly up to 780 mg. of verapamil, no relief, and have missed about 200 hours of work. Now he has told me to slowly lower my dose to 480 mg. again and then start adding "Nimotop" to it. My pharmacy just informed me that a months supply cost $1,123.00! Have great insurance, but my co-pay will be $330 a month. Not complaining, I'm very lucky, have very supportive spouse, family and co-workers. Just feeling a little lower than a rock today and hate myself for messing with my dose. If your dose works, please don't every mess with it. Wondering if any of you have taken this drug and what results you saw. I would of killed myself if it wasn't for Imitrex injections. Thanks for listening.
