Went to the doctor to see about getting something other than Maxalt tablets and we had a heart to heart on CH for about 30 minutes. We went over all the options and came back to Maxalt and oxygen. I told him that a normal Maxalt prescription of 3 melts or 6 tabelts was a joke as the insurance company only liked authorizing every 3 or 4 days.
My doc being the good soul that he is, wrote me up a prescription for 12 melts at a time with 20 refills and then he gave me 10 sample melts. I quickly headed to Walgreens and filled my first order. I also told them to go ahead and restock as I'd be back. So I'm armed with 20 melts in my briefcase as I head off on a business trip (already had to use 2). My doc said my "resistance" to the tablets was due to the fact that Maxalt can take up to an hour to go through your system if taken in tablet form and by then, my CH are usually gone. The melts have aborted my latest attacks within 0-15 minutes. Gotta love better living through chemicals.
