Just there's no confusion - the thalamus and the hypothalamus are two different things although connected. What I'm gathering, and remember a little knowledge is a danerous thing, the sensory impulses go to the thalamus, it sorts the signals and sends them to the right places. The hypothalamus recieves the so routed singals and controls emotional type stuff - 4 F's, body temp ect., the hypothalamus tells the pituitary to send out certain hormones to activate things in the body.

The hypo is different in formation between male & female which may have something to do with the man to woman ratio in CH. The levels of serotonin are also directly proportional to levels of testosterone (men) and estrogen (female). I remember one lady saying when she went on the pill her CH quit.

Well that's tonights food for thought. Sorry no conclusions to be offered by me.
