I agree with lack of problems, rebound, etc using oxygen AS it has been so frequently discussed on this board

8-10 liters/minute, thru NONrebreather bag mask
start at VERY FIRST twinge of impending attack
NO room air or rebreathe at all
stay on it a couple minutes after very last attack twinge passes

for me, this varies 10 = 30 minutes total
norm & average about 15

DON'T use it as a preventive
DON'T stay on it for long periods
DON'T wait til attack is fully presented
(usually a waste of time then)

RE: potential lung scarring

absolutely a risk

can be reduced somewhat by humidifying the oxygen before inhaling it
you will porbably have to rig your own humidifying device

search the archives - this has been discussed about every two weeks for several months
