Imitrex and rebound

I personally have not suffered from any rebound effects from Imitrex, and I have searched for any literature suggesting that there is...and have not yet found any. I spoke with Glaxo at length about this a couple of times, and they report that it hasn't been demonstrated.
This, of course, does not mean that it doesn't exist. Many pain medications do cause rebound..even something as simple as Advil, aspirin, or excedrin.
If you are getting this effect from Imitrex, I would suggest trying a different Triptan (Maxalt, Zomig, etc) to see if they work better for you. Amerge is like a longer acting version of Imitrex. Maybe taking an Amerge would help reduce the overall number of doses required to treat yourself over a day
