Interesting ideas, Bill and Gary. Let me toss in my 2cents worth. (Ok, you don't have to let me, you can't actually stop me)
First off, DJ (IMHO) already does way more than enough for us but maintaining this site. I, for one, resist any suggestions that would result in more work for him. Or more expense, since he funds most of this from his own meager military salary.
Next, I LIKE the free-form forum. I have little trouble discerning the 'serious' posts from the 'trivial' ones, based solely on the titles. Okay, every once in a while hub or Bobp suckers me in, but not often.
Finally, here's my amateur sociological observation...change the forum and we will lose at least as much as we gain. Human beings, by nature, resist and resent change.
