30 year CH veteran also. I just get the tension and sinus headches in between clusters so I can stay in practice. I don't think a day has passed in the last 10 years that I haven't taken at least a couple of ibuprophen or tylenol. My head is a piece of junk. Really don't know what purpose it serves other than to give me pain ( fire away hub). My "regular" headaches don't come anywhere near the sharp, excruciating pain of a cluster though.
In my serotonin studies I read that amitriptilyne (Elavil) is good for tension (muscle contraction) headaches. Gives you such a good nights sleep that you wake up relaxed.
Sam - really do hope you find the cure for your headaches.
