I'm a CH sufferer from Italy, male 46 yo.
I'm so sorry for this, i think that autism may be enough for a boy! yes is terrible, but the main problem is to diagnose CH with your son. Many times we have seen misdiagnoses in persons that can explain well what they feel, in this case is very difficult. Some tips:
- How long are the attacks? If less than 10 min or more than 2 hours could not be CH
- About craving bright light: CH sufferers DOESN'T need light, they generally love dark places but, i hypotize, that your son ask for bright light 'cause he generally think the dark give pain. (it's only my opinion). But say this to the doctor, although you will get a wrong diagnose
A big hug to your son, and all my help to you, if you need.
Ciao for now
