Yes, several years ago I used to inject my thigh with 1 cc (1mg/ml) of DHE (dihydroergotamine). After a while I had to move up to 2 cc's to abort the headaches. I could, however, inject just one cc at bedtime to prevent my normal CH from happening an hour after I fell asleep. (If you ever do use the injectible form, be sure and mix it with a cc of injectible saline solution so it won't burn so bad when you shoot up).
Now I use the sublingual Ergomar. I'm not sure if it's DHE or some other ergot. Anyway I disolve it under my tongue before bed and then I either don't get a headache an hour after going to sleep or if I do, then it is easily stopped with a combo of cold air and oxygen. I've just been using this the last 2 nights, so don't have much of a track record yet. It apparently doesn't work as well as the injectible, but it's a lot less trouble.
