I remember one of the tougher CH that I had was after taking a Contact allergy pill. SInce then I have notice that cold pills in general will intensify or trigger CH. Benedryl(diphenhidraphene(sp)) does not trigger and may even help, because it is actually a histamine blocker. Gary G swears by it, though I think he's probably a sleepy guy.
I know he can be a little testy at times ;^)
