I've tried hot peppers and they have actually aborted ch. But as most things it's not every time and really not worth it for me. I had forgotten all about that. I have also tried the cream, if I rub it on my neck where the knot developes it seems to alleviate the tension associated with my attack but does very little for the actual head pain. I use habeneros they are very mean and the oil from them is very sticky and will actually stay with you for days. I don't grow taste buds on quite a few areas of my body that have had a considerable amount of a burning sensation from those things. They actually cause the skin to flush in the area that you have rubbed it on. Those accidental contacts are the worse but I wont go in to that right now.
