Laurie, I have almost the same cycle as you! 2-3 months
duration;however mine have been annual for the past 16
years with the HA's occurring twice a year..so all in
I have them about 6 months a year! The last remmission lasted
14 months.

Now I take covera hs ...now at 180mg a day once a day
used to be 240mg 1 a day. While this is very low compared
to most CH'ers. It works it is the only thing that works for
me. I start the Verapamil once the cycle is rolling. Then
as soon as they are begin to go ... a few days in between ha's is the signal
that the cycle is ending I take the verapamil for about a week more
then quit.

It is my belief (probably wrong) that stopping allows
me to keep a low dose and have the verapamil work best.
Alcohol is a definite no no for me..drinking during a cycle would be
very bad for social standing, unless I am suddenly surrounded by people
that think holding your head, stomping your feet, and crying while snot drips from your
nose is cool! So my advice ..avoid the alcohol..its good to practice
self denial anyway.

fwiw..pfd..

Mike
