I normally have the BP of a dead person and went on a trial of verapamil. I had to be taken off because it was threatening my health. I was watched carefully and it just wasn't for me because of the BP problem. In surgery there is a situation called bottoming out and that is generally when the patient dies. No, he/she is not being over cautious at all.
