After having a spring cycle from May to early August, I have now apparently started a fall cycle. Along with seasonal cycles, of course I have the monthly cycles, being a woman. I have had a headache now for almost a full week. I thought this was just my monthly cycle, but has continued with a vengence. I have maybe 1 or 2 hours relief per day. I am in the middle of a dose pak, which used to work, but doesn't seem to now. I could list the various drugs I have been on for relief, but as you all know, what works one minute, doesn't the next. My maintenance at the moment is nortriptilene(sp) I also take fininol to help with the pain. My question is this, other than going back to the neuro and getting a hand full of new scrips that Lord know how they will make me feel, what are my options. He has vetoed the oxygen idea and doesn't give injections. He said when it gets unbearable, to go to the emergency room. I would really like to try a cortisone shot. Anyway, last cycle he put me on Sansert. It immediately gave me leg cramps and after taking it for 2 days and feeling like crap, I got off of it. However, it did seem to put a dent in my cycle, or else, it was ready to stop on its own. Since I am about ready to bang my head against the wall, do any of you think that taking the sansert again just for a few days to stop these things in their tracks is ok. Or do any of you know the significance of the leg cramps. I am a smoker, but not heavy. Sorry if my post doesn't make much sense, but I am really in pain at the moment. One more thing, I have a dentist apt in about an hour and never thought I would look forward to getting a shot of novacaine. However, my friend swears that novacaine stops her migraines in their tracks. anyone here have the same positive experience with novacaine. Thanks for any input.
