A vasoconstrictor widely used before the triptans (Imitrex, Amerge) were around. I've been using it for 25+ years. Only problem is that if you take too much (which is easy to do since you're not supposed to take more than 10/week) you risk ergotism, where the circulation shuts down resulting in gangreene. Also if it's taken for a long time it rebounds badly.
