Jackie,I had only some swelling in my face and weight gain. I am a 30 yr. old healthy woman with no other health probs. At the time I was taking the most prednisone I was extreemly active and on a hiking trip for 3 months. Occassional upset stomach but very mild. My case is that I have to take the meds. during my whole cycle so I was on Pred. for 6 months. 80 for 7 days, 60 for 7, 40 then 20. A week or two would pass before the headaches returned. As long as I took the pred. I had no headaches until the end of the cycle- I had a few breakthrough headaches-( breaking through the pred.) but they were mild and manageable with oxygen. Then my cycle would be over and I would be free for 11 months. Have you tried Indocin? I have also had luck with that but it takes 2 weeks or so to get enough in your system I am currently taking 300mg of Indocin combined with prozac 10 mg of prozac(seratonin reuptake inhibitor) while on 80 mgs of prednisone for a week then 60 and 40 and 20 then the indocin alone should work- I hope I don't want to gain any weight this time. but if it meas no headaches- ok.Good luck,Ck.
