I'd give it about a week. I started with 60 mg (1/2 tablet) per day for a week,
then 120 mg per day for a week, then 180 mg per day. I have gone back down to
120 mg per day and am doing okay. I did this same thing last Winter and got down
to 60 mg per day for about a month and a half. I stopped and the CH returned but not
as bad. I have determined that I have gone chronic. I stopped all meds except OTC stuff,
the pain grew too bad to bare again around the end of July. So I started the Verapamil
again. It took about 4-5 days to take effect, but it works like a charm.
If I were you, I'd go in 60 mg increments every 4 days or so to find a level you're
comfortable with, then maybe back down a little. I say this only because I don't like to
take pills of any kind, and the less I have to take, the better.
