I keep reading all these posts, but have yet to see anyone refer to depakote. My husband started on depakote 250 mg twice a day for 6 days then went to 500mg twice a day, and has had one very mild attack in a week. He finally was able last friday to see a neurologist that specializes in headaches locally, and was he good! I went with him, this man was wonderful! Great bedside manors, didn't make him feel like he was imagining all of this as other dr.s had, and best of all knew exactly what it was right off! We had other dr's say it is not clusters, but TN, which did not fit at all. Anyhow, my question is, have you used depakote and found relief temporarily, have most of you never used it? He also is taking prednisone for 10 days and lidocaine nasal spray for break through attacks, which he has not needed to take. I am thinking we need to have a huge party for him when he is painfree for 1 month! Guess there is an advantage to owning my own party shop, can always find a reason to party.
