My take on that point is that... the sudden restoration of health occurs as a "sign" which intends to lead the person healed and/or those who witness it to a conversion or a needed enlightenment of faith. How often Jesus tied the physical and mental healings to spiritual salvation!
The "saved" doctrines are a major sticky point with Christian faiths. I don't want to use CH.com space to get deep into that. Suffice it to say that some of us don't believe in the "already saved" state. We believe our free will allows us to fall away at any time. So I can't address that aspect of your question.
