Hi, as a former brain tumor patient I have had more than my share of MRI. In my opinion they are not the horror some say they are. I was in the machine during a major power outage, the tech were the one's who got freeked out. If you have a closed MRI you will be given a divice to hold should you feel you need to communicate, also during the end phases of imaging the tech can communicate with you and you with them. There is light inside and I often feel this must be what it is like to be blasted out in outer space. My tests always consisted of being brought out mid way and given an organic IV med so blood vessels could be examimed, painless with no side effects. I never had problems with filings and had no problems wearing an underwire bra. It is a wonderful diag tool, my tests took about a half out. I tend to look forward to them, no phone to answer and no toddlers yelling "MOMMY"
