I believe that the mind can do anything. It is a quite powerful tool. Meditation and breathing are essential. Those woman who have gone thru natural chilbirth can use the breathing used there. For the men, well talk to a mother! Seriously, finding a space to focus on(even with eyes closed) and concentrating on relaxing takes the focus off the pain. Sometimes displacement is needed. This where you use your mind to remove yourself from wherever you are. Your happy place if you will. I understand that even thinking hurts, it takes some practice. Also ice packs placed near affected eye rubbing gently the side of face and blowing my nose helps. There is a gag and puke method which I wouldn't recommend, but does work. My partner gives me support when I feel like giving up. This is very important. I never lie flat either. When I 'try' to sleep I keep my head vertical, propped up with pillows. I stay cool too, heat seems to trigger for me. These are the basic methods I use depending on the situation at hand. Hope I can help some of you. Please feel welcome to continue your questions.
