I can't remember the last time I was in a normal "cycle", but I do believe that when I am out of cycle - my life goes back to normal. Never had too big of a bout with depression AFTER a cycle - but I think it can be testified here that when I am in cycle, I am a mental mess. Have been suffering with CH's for 12 years, almost two years chronic. I have gone through some severe depression that has lasted months at a time.
Recently I got the CH's under control - but now I am having complications and am fearful I am going right back to where I was - that would be a nightmare.
I guess some people may undergo extreme depression following a cycle, maybe something like post traumatic stress disorder. I believe that is totally possible - after all, I can't think of too many things that could be considered traumatic, but CH's are definitely one of them.
