First of all let me tell you that I have had CH's for 21 years. Nothing I have tried has ever prevented a cycle from starting. I was on Prednesone for 3 years because I couldn't get off it without starting another cycle. I finally got off the Prednesone by decreasing the amount by 1 gram per week. I stayed at 1 gram fot 2 weeks before I quit. I was actually afraid to quit alltogether. I'll never take Prednesone again. This past cycle I took Depakote at 500mg/day along with Amerge 2/day and Imitrex as needed. (See Imitrex tip on left margin.) My cycle quit about a month eariler than usual. I don't know if this was a strange cycle or the meds worked. I'll find out next year. I have been HA free for the past 4 weeks and am quiting the Depakote tonight. Keep supporting your husband. He's in Hell when he has a CH and only your support will pull him through it. Eventually he'll find a medication that works. At least we all hope so.
