Hi group,

I'm not one of the diflucan group but also have been following their experiences with great interest. I have been in contact with Jim and he had a cluster recurrence following a round of antibiotics. He is currently repeating his antifungal therapy but it's his story and i'll let him tell it.

I have been painfree for a couple of years but have had shadows daily. I recently had a cluster type experience that included every little symptom except the eye pain. Hmmm.. one step away from a cluster.. very interesting but as usual, confusing to me. So yesterday i did an experiment with sugar.

At breakfast i overloaded on sugar. 2 pieces of chocolate cake, oatmeal with brown sugar.. it was sweet to say the least. What followed was a 6 hour shadow. Still no pain but the feeling that the pain could rise up from the depths at any moment. It's an interesting test that made me eliminate sugars from my diet beginning today.

We might want to pay attention to sugars and carbohydrates that we ingest. The time delay between when we eat and when the pain starts may be related to the type of sugar and how readily our bodies process it.. (or the yeast consume it and produce alcohol? or CO2? or cause a histamine response?)

Painfree days a'head to all,

Brian W
