The water thing helped me immensely, and I would
like to add that in addition, eating a head of
celery per day helps. Something about the excersize
of the jaw, the high water content, the fiber (keeping
buildup of toxins out of the body) - it just seemed
to help. And it's fat-free! Keeping oneself dis-
tracted helps too, although when it wakes me up at
3:30 AM all I want to do is get through it so I can
rest and not miss work, not get distracted with TV
and of course don't even try to read. I am starting
another series of cluster and trying the prednisone
burst, this helped to derail my last cluster attack
and in addition Fiorinal for the residual migraine
I sometimes get following cluster. Also it helps to
keep the neck in adjustment (like what a chiropractor
does) if only as an easing of the tension that builds
in the neck muscles due to the radiation of pain
from the cluster site. Getting my fingers ice cold
and finding pressure points (just above the brow line
between the eyes - location of the "third eye"; in front of the ear,
on the affected side; at the base of the thumb.) Hope
some of these suggestions help someone, I am so grateful
for this website as I thought I was so alone in this
thing. The support here is tremendous and so necessary.
