if you read up on almost EVERY type of mysterious malady that in any way involves the head, senses or nervous system -
from the different headache syndromes, to psychological ailments, to visual/auditory deficiencies, to alcoholism, to whatever else you can think of that the medical establishment doesn't have a good solid handle on.......
you'll find they almost ALWAYS insert a statement to the effect:
"...studies show that most people afflicted with toesgrowingontheirearsitis demonstrate above-average intelligence and unusual creative abilities...."
which REALLY TRANSLATES as:
"....these egocentric DaVinci wannabe hypochondriacs are in really deep shit, and are a pain in the butt; might as well toss 'em a bone & they'll blame their problems on someone else but me, because I CERTAINLY don't know what the #@#^% to do for or about them, but as long as I complement them they'll suck it right up & go home happy.."
