I took a course of acupuncture some years ago. It turned me from chronic to episodic. I now get remissions of up to 2 years with 2 to 3 months episodes. My practitioner (a qualified anesthetist at a local hospital who is Vietnamese) put me on three visits a week for a few weeks, then two visits a week, followed by one a week then a few weeks when I went only once in two weeks. At the end of the course I was pain free for the first time in over 10 years. The clusters returned after 4 months, then I went into remission for 13 months. That has been the pattern ever since, except that the remission periods have been getting longer. Acupuncture worked for me, though such is the nature of the beast that it won't work for everybody.
