Have you tried exercise. Not routine exercise but streneous exercise at the onset of a headache. Last cluster, when I was jolted out of bed every night, I'd run downstairs and then do squats until my legs burned and I was really huffing & puffing. Usually only took about 30 squats or 1 minute. Then I'd sit in my chair with an ice pack and breath deeply. The headache would abort in 5-10 minutes. I whacked 60+ headaches in row doing this.

It doesn't work for everyone but I have seen it mentioned in some of the medical write ups about CH.

If all else fails, may give it a try.
