I have been using Imitrex for about 4 years. My episodes are generally 2 months every 2 years. A single dose of injectable Imitrex takes about 10 minutes to totally eliminate pain. My insurance company has now limited me to 6/month so i tried the nasal spray. Not as good but usually takes the edge off within 20-30 minutes. P.S. directions for nasal spray are not very good. The trick is to keep the mist in your nose. If you follow directions most of the mist ends up going down your throat.
