I will never forget the first time I was introduced to this element - I was a 2nd year cadet in the US Coast Guard Academy on a training cruise in July of 1969. We tied up in Naples and got into Rome where I met this lovely and friendly young woman who liked to walk around the Coliseum each evening and who had studied this element - she offered to share some with me and after quickly referencing my copy of the Periodic Table, I agreed and then .......
