I thank you for this post. My doctor has finally told me that I have had enough for now and need a break. My family has not been seeing my pain until now, now that I have been off the steriods. They worked fine as long as I was only having clusters for short periods. I have obviously turned to chronic since I've had them since June with only a 3 week break (while I was on antibiotics for sinus infection). Steroids won't work for chronic because we can't take them for that long a period.
As Doug L. posted once, kinda like selling your soul. You know they are there and want to use them, they work so well, but you can't, due to the serious side effects of prolonged use.
