Pain medication only made me tired to tired to fight the demon. But the pain the demon delivered to my face was always to much for me to be able to sleep, no matter how much medication I took. The demon would win and sleep would not come. Now I only use imitrex injections. Yes I think there are a lot of us who try thinking of other things.
I count over and over to a 100 someone told me to count backwards I tried that it works better for me. Staying calm is another thing. Knowing it will end helps me. I was once told to watch the clock and I do and that helps. I know they will end in a hour. Gary G has some great ways he copes, Todd, Drummer,and Margi and so many others have great advice for coping read as many post as you can and go to post archives on the side of the cluster board and read some of the old post there is lots of ideas there also.
