I always take 1/3 shots at a time. If the first shot doesn't get rid of it in 20-30 mins, I'll take a second 1/3 of a shot. If it still isn't gone in 20-30 minutes (depending on the level of pain), I'll take another 1/3 of a shot.
The way I figure it, if a 1/3 of Imitrex hasn't worked in the 20-30 minute range, it's not going to that time. So, I'll push in another small dose till it kicks the h/a's ass (if ya know what I mean). Don't think I could wait an entire hour!
My personal opinion is... take all the 1/3 shots you need to, just don't go over your 12mg per day!
