I used it on my temple in 1998 after I read where someone had used it to succsessfully abort a cluster headache. That time I used the brand Icey Hot. The first time it worked great. The headache was gone in a few minutes. But the second time it not only failed to work, but I had the worst headache in months that night. Plus I got some in my eyes. YOWWIE!!!

I wonder if some treatments that will work first give me a headache, then work. When I had the SPG blocks by that ENT/dentist I would always have one really bad headache after the injection, but then be headache free for a while. When I first tried melatonin several years ago, I had a horrible cluster headache the next morning, and didn't try it any more. But after reading about so many using it, this time I persisted. The first night I got a faint headache (nothing, including clear thoughts getting all the way by the Sansert at that point) that felt like it would have been a real head-banger. But when I kept taking the melatonin, no more headaches, and shadows went down.

So maybe the capsaicin burns a lot more the first time. But since it can be used nasally, topically, different places, strengths it would be nice to find best ways to use it.
