Couple of things you mentioned made me think about how my clusters have acted over the last 4-5 months and since I've had them.
My clusters have definitely been longer than ever lately, approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours, except the times when I used O2....don't know how long they would have been. All times in past they were only 30 minutes or so, when I didn't have any meds that is.
Another thing is there has been 3 times scattered over the last couple of months when I would get a CH, nothing would stop it (about a 3-4 on the Kip scale) and I would have it for 12-18 hours. Just a constant pain.....it didn't move around like the intense clusters (moving from eye to sinus to temple to ear to jaw to teeth or a combo). It just stayed around my sinus....nagging me frustratingly, my eye tearing constantly. Reckon it was a migraine? The last time I took a Maxalt, laid back in the recliner in the evening time, woke up an hour later and it was gone. Had a cluster the next night around 10pm, aborted with O2 in 5 minutes.
Another thing is my clusters always seem to have about a 5-10 minute aura (precursor, shadow). I can't ever remember having one come to full blown pain in 1-2 minutes, except maybe when I wake up with one in the middle of the night (which I have had very few of those and could have had an aura before I woke up).
