Like the ER doc at our local hospital, where I fled after an 2 AM attack 8-9 years ago, that was totally off the scale - - just to be somewhere safe in case it repeated right away (I was in a 6 - 8 attack/day phase).
He told me I couldn't possibly have CH because it never started before "middle age", and I claimed to be a 15 year patient, @ age 37;
Told him I'd been to every headache clinic & neurologist/HA specialist in the region (which is New England, where there are more MDs than Boston Red Sox fans); and they all diagonsed CH;
his response was "well, go see them then, what are you bothering me for ?"
this is the jerk ON DUTY in the ER, mind you !
finally, he accused me of trying to scam him for drugs and told me to leave or he'd call the cops
well, I'm still here, I still have CH, but he's long-gone & the hospital has been sucked up by a chain - maybe poetic justice,
so, if you ever run into a Dr Stein, now about 45 - 50; ask him if he ever practiced ER in NH; if he says yes, (1) kick him hard & high where it hurts (2) get the hell away from him
