When I started the acupunture 11 weeks ago I
was skeptical. After my 2nd visit, I spent the
day with a Level 8. During my 3rd visit he put
the needles in the top of my feet, head, between
my thumb and index finger, back of my neck, and
1 in each ear. Then you lay there for a 1/2 hour.
I brought a magazine in with me but he took it
out of my hands and said to just relax and close
my eyes. To my surprise, I was starting to feel
very calm almost like I could drift off to sleep.
I did a little research after my 3rd visit. The
Chinese have been using acupunture for centuries.
Traditional acupunture is based on ancient theories of the flow of Qi (Energy) and Xue
(Blood) thru pathways that cover the body like
our nerves and blood vessels do. Acupunture allows
Qi to flow to parts of the body that are deficient
and away from where it is Excess. After more
vistis (I went once a week for 10 weeks) I
would notice that I would get the ghosts coming
and going all day but I would also have the
sensation that someone was picking me with a
pin lightly in the top middle of my head. Since
then I would never get past a Level 3 or 4. I
am now going every other week. I hope this
information helps someone out there. If you
plan on trying acupunture, look for a doctor
that has Dipl.Ac after their name. This means
that they are certified by the National Commission
for the Certification of Acupuncturists.
