I've been taking prednisone for about 5 years now. The first time I took it, I went from 105 lbs to 152 lbs almost overnight. It does not make you lethargic but does increase your appetite and that effect does not quit when you stop taking it. I could not lose the weight. Then I had my first 2 year remission and my appetite returned to normal and my weight dropped down to 115 lbs. My last cycle lasted 16 weeks and I had 3 prednisone tapers. I asked everyone around me to keep reminding me that I was not really starved out of my mind when they saw me going for seconds. I did manage to maintain my weight at 115 lbs.
