I've been afflicted with cluster headaches for about 7 years now. Imitrex works very well as an abortogenic drug when I get one (usually from the middle of December until the first of January.)
I've tried many prophylactic medicines including Inderol, antihistamines, Methysergide, Limbitrol, Torridol, Prednisone, and every NSAID known to man. None have seemed to curb the attacks or stop them.
I have heard that starting Lithium involves many blood tests, etc. in order to properly adjust dosages in individuals. Is this true? Perhaps those who are taking Lithium as a prophylactic medication can shed some light on the subject for me. Thanks.
