I have been living a nightmare for 13 years, as most of you have been. Nothing, nothing worked for me. I found imitrex and oxygen two years ago. Until then, I banged my head and screamed until they went away. On a whim, I went to an accupuncturist who has an office 1 BLOCK from my house. It turned out that this doctor was one of the best in the field. So I visited him twice a week as soon as my headache period started. Within a couple weeks, I felt better. The headache would start, but never got intense. By the fourth week, they were gone. I feel like this doctor has given me life back. I was a skeptic because I had tried everything. He has a 95% success rate in curing cluster headaches. He told me that everyone responds differently, but usually are healed. MOst of his cluster patients do not return for at least 5 years and some not at all. It is painless and very relaxing. Three tiny needles in your foot and you fall into a peaceful sleep. It is amazing. I sent my oxygen tank back and threw away all but one injection of Imitrex just in case. I highly recommend accupuncture as a preventative.
