17 years ago there was this written about people with Cluster Headaches:

"The available evidence suggests that many patients may be somewhat taller as a group than controls, but reports are not in unanimous agreement. Weight differences have not been demonstrated. The available evidence suggests that many cluster headache patients exhibit what has been characterized as hysterical behavior, particularly during headache attacks. Suicide ideation during attacks seems evident in many cluster headache patients.

Both cluster headache males and females appear to have a substantially greater likelihood of excessive alcohol ingestion and smoking than controls.

The "rugged" character of many male and some female cluster headache patients may even extend to a greater tendency to own guns. Gun ownership and the violent/rage behavior during cluster headache attacks may perhaps reflect deeply repressed emotions.

Ulcer disease appears more likely to occur in cluster headache males and females than in the general poulation"

Not once, is the PAIN of a cluster headache attack mentioned. Perhaps that's why these patients were "exhibiting hysterical behavior". The article also mentions Ulcers. Why? We now know, (as Jack pointed out) that Ulcers are a Physical problem, due to an organism.

Personally, I think this article is crap. I like Goadsby's article much, much better for two reasons:

1) He's found a structural abnormality in the brain. (Physical)

2) He's described the pain of a Cluster attack as "the most pain a human can endure".

Rock on Goadsby !!!!!
