Hi, I just posted new (first) entry. Has anybody out there ever been diagnosed with sleep apnea? I just was, I think - - official word comes during visit to your doctor in my HMO. While my own trial of using oxygen early on in my cluster history did help some, it was not enough. However, the person who supervised my apnea testing suggested that using the C-Pap machine (which it seems certain I will do if I want to avoid falling asleep at the wheel if I don't catch myself in time and also falling asleep while watching TV while holding can of diet Sprite -- latter cold and no fun to clean up, even though it certainly wakes a person up)
might have some effect on cluster headaches. Told her I'd tried oxygen early on, and no soap. She said the amount you get from using oxygen before bed is not nearly enough to impact the problem. Got an appt. next week with my doctor to discuss need for, use of, and payment of obtaining my own C-Pap machine. I'd sure like to hope for some help. At the very least, the machine should allow me to spend more time in rem sleep, and as I also have fibromyalgia (since approx '87), maybe some improvement here at least. Help for both would be terrific. Tried so many avenues, hoping is hard to do these days. So, any comments on apnea and possible connection with clusters? Thanks in advance!
