When I was practising I remember there were four things that truly change hair in women,
Puberty
Pregnancy- hair fallout after birth. Maybe the CH's are affecting your hormone level. Really I don't know, it's the only association I can think of.
Menapause
General Anesthesia
Less severe were meds and trauma.
When I was on a trial of lithium my nails grew strong and my hair was wonderful. The rest of me had the shakes so bad I had to stop. Maybe the fumes have done something to our noses and sense of smell because I am also extremely sensitive to aromas. I don't experience a burnt odor so much as the residual smells of whatever the last person used. Please understand every answer is a guess at best.
Good Luck, Jamy
