Some of the old timers remember with appreciative nostalgia the ergot inhaler which 3M used to sell.
Hope on the horizon: Sheffield Pharmaceuticals is doing the first round of human tests on a new form of ergotamine inhaler which may be more effective than even the 3M system.
It's a long way from being marketed--but something to watch for. The advantage of the inhaler is that it gets medication into the body more quickly than any form of tablet and compares favorably to injections.
