Sorry to hear about such a long CH. According to
the neurologist I see (who is very aware of the pain
we go through, thank heaven) told me that it is common
to have a CH during one of your rem periods while you
are asleep. I often have my CH either around midnight
or around 5:00 am. For myself, my vision doesn't seem
to be affected, but it others may have some problems
there.
